Will Rivals Do to Google What Facebook Did to MySpace

Google+ is making news in the tech dailies across the globe for its best breed options. However, there have been several anti-trust motions passed against Google in US and other countries to avoid its monopoly in the Internetworking space. Few years ago, MySpace ruled the social networking charts and it was Facebook who managed to sneak in with its supreme capabilities to torment MySpace’s supremacy in the segment. Facebook is short of 250K user mark to hit 1 Billion active users per month. With booming social networking space and launch of new services lined up the end users can expect a lot more from Facebook than Google.

Although Google hasn’t been really successful with Buzz or Orkut the services of Google+ certainly look better than Facebook at this point in time. It will be interesting to note as to how the search engine giant will deal with the building up Anti-trust motions against it.

The current scenario certainly points towards Advantage – Facebook. The rivals and competing businesses are moving their focus to Facebook than Google. The stringent listing laws and ineffectiveness in their marketing campaigns are considered to be as the prime reason for such transition.

However, only time will let us know if the winner of this battle of supremacy turns out to be Facebook or Google. The arena in the tech social space looks competitive and the service provider who is able to offer higher value to the customers will prevail in the longer run.
