Google+ Gets the Zynga’s Most Popular Game – CityVille

Majority of you must be familiar with the name Zynga – a social network game developer based in San Francisco. The official slogan of Zynga is “Connecting the world through games.” Zynga has already introduced so many popular games on different social networks and brought many people to these networks, Facebook being the most apt example.

CityVille known to be the most well-liked game by Zynga is now making its way to the Google’s Google+.

It was since the launch of Google+ Games, when both the parties tied into a partnership. Being an investor in Zynga, Google received the first Zynga Poker as first game after the launch of gaming platform on Google+ back in August.

Coming back to CityVille, it has attracted a lot more traffic to Facebook compared to Zynga Poker. The figures provided by AppData suggest that CityVille has over 70 million active players each month, while the numbers are limited to 30 million active players for the Zynga Poker.

By bringing its most popular game to Google+, Zynga is anticipating a similar response as in case of Facebook. Zynga is now looking to expand its options because it is largely reliant on Facebook at the moment.

Reports suggest that Facebook gets 30% of Zynga’s substantial revenues. The figures are pretty much identical to what Apple charges for incorporating in the App Store. Reports claim that Google is presenting better terms for the developers, hence giving them an opportunity to grow faster through diversification. This will also help the company secure its revenues to some an extent.

In a blog post, Zynga expresses it thoughts over bringing its most popular game to Google+ as

It’s no secret we’re big fans of Google+ here at Zynga. Last month we announced that we partnered with Google to bring Zynga Poker to Google+, and today we’re excited to add CityVille to the new game platform.

Google+ plus is still new in social networking war. Facebook is way ahead with over 800 million users. Google’s social network certainly has a long way to go, but bringing Zynga games to Google might help Google to build its user base.
