Apple Reportedly Prepping Air-like 15-inch MacBook

It has been reported by Japanese website Macotakara.jp that Apple is working on an Air-like 15-inch notebook which is under a production test run at the moment.

The Japanese website referred to this new device as 15-inch MacBook Air, but what we believe is that company will most probably like to continue with ‘Pro’ name for its 15-inch notebook, despite its wedge-shaped design with no optical drive. Considering the popularity and success of Apple’s MacBook Air devices, we cannot ignore the possibility of 17-inch version of the notebooks as well in an all new design.

It was back in January 2008, when Apple launched its first wedge-shaped MacBook Air, which was at that time considered underpowered with a price tag of $1,799. Since the launch of first MacBook Air, the company has been trying to improve its device with powerful and improved features. The most noticeable thing is that with each development the price of the device has also been dropped. For instance, the price of the latest 11-inch MacBook Air is starting from $999, while it is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor. Also, the device is still considered smallest, lightest and thinnest in its entire class.
