Google and Samsung Reschedules Android Event for October 19

The long awaited Android Event is finally just around the corner. Google and Samsung announced October 19th as the date for their Android Press Event to be held in Hong Kong, China.

Although, the major focus of the event is not explicitly revealed, but what we have calculated the event will focus on the next version of Google’s mobile operating system (OS), the Ice Cream Sandwich. The invite for the event itself symbolizes the iconic Android character shaped in an ice cream sandwich form.

The other major point of reference for this event is the launch of Samsung’s new Nexus Prime, the first Android-powered smartphone to feature Google’s new operating system. We have heard a lot about Nexus Prime until this time and most of the rumors consensus on the point that the new smartphone from Samsung will most probably feature a 1.2 or 1.5 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 4G LTE.

The Android Event was supposed to hold on October 11, but following the death of the co-founder of Apple’s visionary Steve Jobs demise, the event was postponed by Google and Samsung issuing a statement that this is not the right time to hold this event. Both companies appreciated the efforts and innovative mind of the Jobs and sent their condolence to the family of deceased.

You might be surprised of Google and Samsung’s initiative to hold this event in Hong Kong rather than San Francisco, which is known to be the hub for majority of the technology journalists. Basically, the Android Event happens to correspond with the AllThingsD’s AsiaD Conference, which will also begin the same day as rescheduled Android Event.

Apparently, Andy Ruby and Samsung executive will talk about new Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and of course the next Samsung Nexus Prime running Google’s OS.
