Google Voice app Pulled from App Store

Google had recently updated its official Google Voice app for the Apple’s new iOS 5. However, you might have tried to download the Google’s official Google Voice app from App Store within last few hours with no obvious success. The app is basically not present in the App Store as Google has pulled the app.

This has been confirmed by the Senior Product Manager for Google Voice, Vincent Paquet. He said that the company has intentionally removed the app from the App Store because the recently updated version had a bug that caused the app to crash at sign in.

“Our last update of this week had a bug that caused the app to crash at sign in. We removed it so it did not affect additional users until the fix gets published.”

All those users, who have installed the recent version of Google Voice app, are having problems. The app is removed from the App Store that it won’t affect other users who have not yet installed it but intended to do it in coming time.

Google has not issued any estimated time for arrival (ETA) for the fix and we are not sure at this stage when the fix will be available on the App Store. However, Google assures its users that they won’t let them wait for long as they are working to fix the bug and it will be released as soon as it is fixed. The users will still be able to receive forwarded calls and messages in the intervening time. If you can’t wait for the fix, you can also try any of the unofficial Google Voice app available for download in the App Store.

As soon as Google release the bug-free version, we will inform you. Stay tuned!
