iPhone 5 Usage Will Be Allowed In Delta Airlines Flights

Delta Airlines is set to establish new communication standards in the skies by allowing iPhone 5 usage in its flights. To test run the approach it is piloting the implementation through dedicated on-board communications servers too. When fully implemented the users will be able to send or receive calls or SMSs while on board in skies too. The sources close to Delta Airlines have outlined that they will be rolling out the facility to its passengers from January 2012 onwards. The users will not be required to pay any additional charges for using the service on their flights. This is perhaps one of the most innovative moves took by an airliner across the globe to entice its consumers.

The company’s spokesperson indicated that its passengers often indicated of accessing the network while on board. And the need was strong felt amongst the business class or professional travelers. The busy nature of work and constant need of staying connected amongst the users triggered Delta Airlines in adopting a customer centric approach on their flights too.

The bold move will certainly boost the bottom line numbers for the airliner who is under reeling cost competitiveness pressure. It might continue enjoying the benefits of technological integration for a long time till a competing airliner challenges the service.
