Apple has been upbeat of not including Flash support on its devices and the trend has been followed since the release of iOS 4 in 2010. Intriguingly, iOS 5 will be no different and the users will be left to wonder in agony for Apple’s out of the world stand. The web world is not as mature as Apple and most of the ticket booking sites or news sits embed flash content. But the iPhone users cannot play the embedded flash files on their native devices. Almost all other vendors including Blackberry, HTC and Samsung do offer in-built flash support like PCs or prior to iOS 4 versions.
The sources close to Apple reveal that Apple wants to downplay the flash’s market share by launching offensives against it. However, with the growing threat from competitors and to sustain market competition it makes more sense for Apple to introduce flash in iPhone 5. Ever since Apple refuted to provide flash support in the device nothing has changed over the web but perhaps the overall user experience has dipped on Apple’s devices. It has been estimated that Apple compliant sites are hardly in single digit percentages and the users will prefer the smart phones or tabs offering flash support rather than iOS based going forward.
