Samsung Next Smartphone Seems a lot More Curvier

Following the announcement of Apple’s iPhone 4S on Tuesday, Samsung posted a teaser video for its new Android-powered smartphone, which is scheduled to launch next week. The new phone will more than likely be a Nexus Prime. The curved face of the Nexus S looks positively flat due to its design.

The video is posted by Samsung in response to their forthcoming Samsung Unpacked event on October 11th in San Diego that displays “Another perfect combination is just around the corner.” The video ends displaying the side view of the curved phone with a pretty bold statement, “Something big is coming.” May be the signal is towards the big display screen of the phone. We have to wait until October 11th to see what surprise Samsung has for us in the box.

The video surfaces at a very interesting time when it is hardly 24 hours passed following the announcement of Apple’s iPhone 4S. Apple’s new iPhone is an upgraded iteration of previous iPhone 4. It features a dual-core A5 processor with a better camera. However, many Apple’s fans were hoping to have something big like expected iPhone 5. But still Apple has its top position maintained and remains a major competitor for Samsung.

An Executive Chairman, Eric Schmidt stated earlier that the newest version of Google’s Android, Ice Cream Sandwich will be released in October or November. The Samsung’s Nexus Prime could possibly be the flagship model for this new version. Characteristically, Google opts for partners who get a period of exclusivity with new OS versions. Previously, HTC was picked as the first Android-powered models. Samsung enjoyed the prominence of with its Nexus S, while Motorola was known to appear early on with Honeycomb, the tablet version of Android.

The Google’s latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich has embedded in it the features and interfaces of Honeycomb as well so as to adapt it for the smarphones.

The intended Nexus Prime image reveals button similar to Honeycomb styling, i.e. the depressed looking house icon for the home button. The image also gives an impression of high resolution of 1280 × 720 pixel display.

Now just have a look at the teaser video:
