Samsung to Open Bada to External Developers

In order to popularize the Bada OS the top gadget maker – Samsung has decided to expose its API’s. The proprietary OS was developed and implemented in Samsung devices such as Wave 525. The Bada OS has not been able to fly off the way Android and iOS have been in the market space. It being a closed OS and myopic approach of Samsung has led to slow adoption levels amongst the users. It is certainly ironic to note that Samsung has found more value in Android variant and now offers smart phones such as Samsung Galaxy series on Android 2.x frameworks rather than their home grown Bada OS.

The approach of exposing the OS will not only offer supreme results in near term future but we might also notice the carving of smarter apps too. Over the years, Samsung has emerged as the front runner in the gadget market space and going forward one can expect even further push from the gadget maker. The possibilities of minting money from the fine mobile OS solutions is immense and with the lawsuits filed against it by Apple it certainly needs to sketch up the tainted image in the tech market space and also amongst users.
