Will Tablet Developers Rush To Windows 8

The tablet manufacturers and app developers had Android or iOS platforms to choose from till the moment but with the entry of Windows 8 platform by Microsoft can be a game changer. Undoubtedly, the myopic focus of Microsoft has led them in introducing a dedicated OS for tablets far too late than anticipated. In fact the tech analysts had given the hope of it even releasing one in 2011. However, the plunging PC sales and mobile future have led the Windows maker in introducing a multitasking OS for the tablet devices. There are no second thoughts that its sales numbers might not be supreme initially as iOS and Android are not only mature OS frontiers but have stronger sales ties too.

By Today almost all tablet manufacturers are on Android but Apple who leads the market share with its proprietary iOS service. The vendors have already strategically invested in the firmware partnerships and there is no point in moving away from Android at this point in time. The popularity of Android platform is in fact higher in mobile interfaces than the iOS.

So will Microsoft offer significant discounts to the vendors who would opt for it? Or is Microsoft too going to offer iCloud type of proposition to the users? It looks unlikely for tablet developers to rush to Windows 8 from the onset.
