Apple has finally confirmed that the company has found some bugs in its latest iOS 5 causing battery related issues, reported an online blog AllThingsD.

AllThingsD reported on its blog citing Apple:

A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.

It all started shortly after Apple launched its latest firmware and handset device iPhone 4S. Different people started complaining about battery life issues on the web. Majority of these complaints were mainly focused around on location services and new notification system in latest iOS 5 which is identical to Android’s system. However, Apple has not issued any solution for the problems but said that fix is on its way.

It is assumed that the problem is caused because of the unending notifications and location checks that eat up all the battery. Different forums offer certain fixes that can often help to fix the problem. But it is not necessary that all the users get benefit from those potential fixes. Some users reported that limiting notifications and turning off the feature that automatically adjusts the time zone helped them to save battery life.

What you need to do is: on your iPhone handset, go to Settings -> Location Services to turn them off. This will help certainly help you in battery drainage issue.

Regardless of the battery issues, iPhone 4S has been a big hit, with Sprint and AT&T setting initial sales record.
