Google+ Adds +1 Sharing for Photos

Google has finally introduced the +1 sharing for photos in its social platform Google+ after getting lot of requests from the users. This means that like other kinds of content Google+ users will now able to give similar kind of +1 sharing to photos.

Google+ Photos Engineering Lead, Vincent Mo while announcing the new feature on his Google+ profile said the “it was one of the top requests for Google+ Photos.”

What you need to do to +1 a photo, open the photo viewer by clicking on Photo. On the photo viewer, you can locate the +1 button on the bottom left of the photo.

Google has also added this feature on the Google+ app for iPhone. Google said that the feature will soon be available to Android users via Android app.

Google has improved the functionality of the +1 button and it appears more like Facebook’s ‘Like’ button, a straightforward thumbs-up will now serve the purpose for all sort of content. We already know that Facebook has made its button precise with ‘Facebook Gestures’. These gestures enable users to watch, listen and read the content on the Facebook. However, the major point at this stage is how Google respond to Facebook Gestures, either it will break mold or follow the suit. A -1 button can certainly be a new trend.

While celebrating Halloween last week, many profile photos of the company’s executives were edited with scary effects in accordance with the announcement of Google+’s Creative Kit, including photo editing features.
