Leaked Images and Specs of Motorola’s Upcoming Droid 4 Surfaced

Motorola has seemed to be pretty busy throughout this year with their Droid lineup of smartphones. The company has already released four of them including: Droid X2, Droid 3, Droid Bionic and Droid RAZR. Motorola is all set to launch fifth member of the Droid family, dubbed Droid 4. The new handset from Motorola is assumed to launch on December 8.

Droid Life has unearthed the official specs and images of the forthcoming Motorola Droid 4. The device is very much alike to Droid RAZR, sporting a physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard as some earlier rumors suggest. The keyboard is typically 5-row, edge-lit one.

The leaked images and specifications reveal that the future Droid device will come with smart dimensions – 5.0 × 2.8 × 0.5 inches. It will weigh around 6.31 ounces. The extra weight is perhaps because of the addition of that physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The other prominent features which Droid Life has revealed to us about the device include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. As for system memory, the device will sport 1GB of LP DDR2 RAM, ideal to run Android 2.0 (Gingerbread). The common thought is that the device will be upgradeable to the latest Google’s mobile operating system Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The device will come with an onboard storage of 16GB, which will be expandable up to 32GB with microSD card.

What the leaked images of the Droid 4 suggest that it will have a TFT capacitive touch type display. The Motorola Droid 4 will feature a 4-inch qHD screen with 960 × 5440 pixels of resolution. Compared to Droid RAZR that has 4.3-inch display, the device features a relatively smaller slightly smaller screen. The device will be launched with dual-camera configuration – an 8-megapixel on the back with LED Flash and 1080p HD video recording and image stabilization features, while an HD-capable camera with an intermediate resolution on the front as well for video chats. The device will offer a faster data transfer with 4G LTE networks.

The device as we have stated earlier is scheduled to hit Verizon’s stores on December 8. So far the leaked images and specs seem to be pretty impressive for Droid 4, except for its slightly smaller display. Moreover, we need to wait for a while to have some official news authenticate the leaked information. We are not yet sure whether all the information provided about the handset is authentic or…

Just relax and sit back until we have some official confirmation about the available information.
