Try Windows Phone 7 on your iPhone or Android Device

Microsoft entered into the smartphone market with its Windows Phone rather later. However, the Redmond Company failed to make any impression with its products initially, so decided to focus on Windows Phone 7 to regain the lost image in the market. The company’s mobile operating system appeared to fall below 2% in overall smartphone market share.

In order to attract iOS and Android users to its mobile OS, the giant has employed a very tricky marketing technique: an interactive website. The page fully engrosses the visitors in Windows Phone’s Metro user interface. If you want to have a look of it, here is how:

Just enter “http://aka.ms/wpdemo” in the mobile browser of your Android device or iPhone. You will be directed to a web version of Windows Phone. Interestingly, you will be able to browse through several of the platform’s features and experience the joy of having a Windows Phone 7 device.

However, it is important to note here that Microsoft don’t allow you to have full access to different features including one of its best features called ‘Live Tiles’. You will have a limited interaction to Microsoft’s preprogrammed demos. All in all, what we have notices the site gives you a pretty impressive representation of the WP7 platform.

Microsoft through its mobile OS wants to enter into the smartphone market – in the market where it is not easy to survive when the competition is so high. As for WP7, its tile-based interface is certainly something to boast about, but other than that we find the entire OS a bit unstable. The follow-along demo on the website presented the data in quite tempting way.
