Google Testing New Email Subscription Ad Format

Google, the search giant is testing its Google Adwords offerings in an attempt to go a step ahead of regular text ads with Google Email Subscription Ads, enabling companies to buy ads that mechanically fill in a “Subscribe to newsletter” slot with a given searcher’s Google email address during a search.

It was revealed earlier via Emailblog that the ads were in practice with automaker Honda and it looks like that those offerings have extended to results for email marketing services AWeber and Constant Contact. When a user hit the “Privacy” button available next to the subscription button, he will come to know that his email has been sent to advertiser.

In an answer to the question about the new format, a Google spokesman said:

“We’re currently running a small experiment of a new ad format that helps users sign up more easily for email subscriptions or other free newsletters. This new ad format contains a box within the ad that displays a user’s Google email address (if logged in). If a user chooses to click ‘Subscribe to newsletter’ then the email address is sent to the advertiser directly, which is clearly disclosed within the ad itself.”

Once the service will go official, thousands of email marketing companies will take benefit of it for sure. However, it has not yet disclosed by Google whether this will release as a permanent feature.
