Microsoft’s First Game Hits the App Store

Unexpectedly, Microsoft has announced a mobile version of its most popular Kinectimals game for the Apple’s App Store. Prior to the launch of Kinect, Kinectimals for Xbox was one the few games that was demonstrated. The game is designed primarily for younger folks and it enables the gamer to interact with virtual pets on a puzzling island.

The description given is taken from the App Store:

“This irresistible mobile experience gives you the chance to use your phone to visit the island of Lemuria and play with, care for and fall in love with your very own cub. Bring your pet with you wherever you go! If you’ve already experienced Kinectimals on Kinect for Xbox 360, your phone becomes the key to unlocking five new cubs on your console. Stand-alone mobile game features Kinectimals’ signature visual quality, delightful animation and brand new ways to play with your cub!”

It is interesting to note here that the mobile version of the game already exists for Windows Phone and the current version for iOS is quite similar to it. Furthermore, both are available for $2.99. Rewards are given to the users on completing certain tasks during the game-play, such as unlocking five different cubs on the Xbox version.

Those who already own a Kinectimals console version of the game can use the app to take the cub on the go. However, if you don’t have one, you can opt to create a standalone game. All depends on your choice.

Recently, Xbox made a surprising move with the release of Xbox Live app. While it is not as effective as the Windows Phone version, it still has some weight. In order to make its device a strong contender, Microsoft has seemed to done a lot of hard work, which is obvious from its seamless and user-friendly interface.
