Symbian Belle Updates Schedule for Early 2012

The Finnish mobile giant doesn’t have a good reputation of claiming specific release dates when it comes to Symbian Belle update for current Symbian^3/Anna smartphones. A good number of its users were hoping for an update this month. The reason for this is the previously surfaced demonstrations, displaying all current models running Belle at Nokia World. Apart from these speculations, we have an official announcement from the mobile giant regarding Belle update.

Following is taken an extract from official statement:

Nokia Belle is the latest Symbian software release with all-new user interface, improved user experience, and dozens of improved and new features. We have already shipped Nokia 603, 700 and 701 with Belle software this year, and have received great feedback on the new user experience.

We will make Nokia Belle available to consumers globally by rolling out the Belle software for the existing Nokia range of smartphones such as N8, E7, X7, C6-01, C7, Oro, E6, and Nokia 500 in early 2012. With that, millions of consumers around the world will get a totally fresh experience on their Symbian smartphone.

The announcement is certainly not welcomed by many of its users who are desperate to have an update as soon as possible and can’t wait any longer as Nokia wants them to.

Perhaps, the delay from the company is to make sure that users get an update seamlessly on their exiting installations. The idea is to make the transition so simple and easy that it won’t affect the user data and other settings. Undoubtedly, users don’t like to have an update that will erase all of their data and apps and Nokia never like to see users confronting any such situation.

Most of the users might be confused of Nokia’s use of early 2012. What we have noticed on Nokia Facebook pages that Belle is scheduled to come in February 2012. But this doesn’t mean that all the users will get it on the scheduled time. Depending on the regions and devices, one should need to be flexible about the roll-out dates.
