Twitter Hiring a Team in Germany

After opening its offices in London and Dublin, it seems that Twitter is up to mark its physical presence in Germany as well.

Twitter Chairman and Square CEO, Jack Dorsey, while answering the questions from David Kirkpatrick and Focus magazine’s Holger Schmidt at the DLD conference in Munich told that the company is looking to set up a team in Germany.

However, he didn’t disclose the number of employees the company is looking to make. He just had to say that he was looking for the great people. Twitter’s focus on Germany is quite interesting when we consider it under the light of Schmidt’s remarks that usage levels in the country is as high as in some other parts of Europe.

Moreover, Twitter has some strong connection with the country for the fact that some of its earliest codes were written there by original team member Florian Weber. He is currently CTO and co-founder of hot Berlin startup Amen, while he worked on Twitter code in Germany for about three months before he returned to the United States.

When Dorsey was asked about the recent acquisition of startup Summify, he said that deal would help Twitter in tackling the ‘extremely complex’ task of revealing significant content from the firehose of tweets in real-time.

Dorsey further said that the company has always been in search of amazing teams, whether through acquisitions or simply hires. One can expect to see more acquisitions from Twitter in future to solidify their role in the web world.
