LG Introduces Quad-Core Optimus 4X HD

Mobile World Congress or MWC is just around the corner and companies are busy preparing for the event. A good number of smartphone are supposed to make debut at the event. The Korean electronics giant LG has made a statement that it is ready to bring its new flagship quad-core Android smartphine, the Optimus 4S HD to the event, with an aim to drive customers away from competitor Android device manufacturers.

LG’s flagship Optimus 4S HD smartphone will launch with a host of features, including a 4.7-inch 1280  720 IPS display, integrated within a body that measures only 8.9 mm. Inside it, the smartphone features Nvidia’s new quad-core Tegra 3, 1.5GHZ  processor, 1 GB of LP DDR2 RAM and 16GB of internal memory storage.

Furthermore, the device is running Google’s latest mobile OS Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). The device also features dual camera, with 8-megapixel primary camera on the rear, while a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera on the front for video chat.

According to release, the Tegra 3 processor will help device to consume low battery, hence improving the stand-by time of the device. In order to operate on low power, the device will make use of ‘companion core’ and the ‘world’s only 4-PLUS-1 process’. The device is supposed to have a 2,150 mAh battery that will improve the battery performance.

The company, however, hasn’t said anything about the pricing plan and the possible launch date of the device in its press release. But there is a common thought that the smartphone will be available somewhere in the second quarter. As a number of flagship models are supposed to make debut at the forthcoming event from different manufacturers, we don’t think that LG would take long to release its flagship model. Also, not to forget the fact that LG was the first vendor to release a quad-core smartphone last year.
