Dropbox Redesign Offers New Photo Viewer and Better File Management

Dropbox has recently released a major makeover of its platform. The revamped Dropbox has made file management simple and seamless, while it also adds new video and photo viewer.

The very first thing that user will notice in the revamped user-interface of Dropbox is the action bar that allows you to sort files by name, date, size and even type. Interesting, isn’t it!

What you need to do is to click on file and you will be shown new options by action bar. For instance, the action bar will now allow you to download, delete, rename, move or copy a file from there.

This can also be done by right-clicking on a file. This will give you a hint of Dropbox working in an identical way to Microsoft’s Windows Explorer. This certainly makes things easier for users of Dropbox to handle their files in a seamless way.

In addition to these, the makeover of Dropbox also offers new video and photo viewer. With new video and photo viewer, you can view your content on the whole screen. Dropbox introduces thumbnails for photos and videos – including Photoshop and Illustrator files – to make things easier for users to preview.

The revamped Dropbox also brings a drag-and-drop feature, easier and simpler multiple file selections and keyboard shortcuts (you can view the full list of shortcuts by clicking on ‘?’). Another handy feature introduced by Dropbox is instant search, which means that it will display search results for you as you type in the search box.

Interestingly, this redesign is described as only a first step in a complete refurbishing of the service by Dropbox. More new stuff is coming within “next few months,” says company.

If you have experienced the new Dropbox, let us know how you find it.
